Golf Courses South West
When I was in Chicago, I decided to fly instead of drive, as it would’ve been a 14 hour drive. While in Chicago for work I decided I was going to take the weekend and drive up to Wisconsin, so I rented a car. Unfortunately I didn’t have a physical license, just my Colorado Gov app (which has my digital license, and my passport). Since I didn’t have a physical license, I couldn’t use any of the outdated car rental places, (Alamo, Enterprise, etc…) however I was able to use Turo. Which is like Airbnb for cars. I had never driven an electric car more than the few minutes I spent in my brother-in-laws Tesla in Fort Wayne. After spending a weekend in a Tesla, it was all I could I think about when flying back.
New Car
Then I started asking my boss a little more about how he liked his Tesla, and any issues he thought there were, then before I knew it, I was downloading the app and looking into getting a car. There was 7500 Federal Tax rebate, and 5000 CO State Tax refund, that paired with my 8 year old Subaru Impreza with 42k miles on it, I was able to get the price down 22k. Once I landed back in Tennessee, and I hit KY, AL, MS, and then had to immediately drive up to Denver. Once I clicked the button on the app, the sale was in progress, and I had 3 days to get all of my paperwork together. Since I had a 20 hour drive ahead of me, I just hit the road.
October 2023
When I got back to Denver I stayed with my buddy Paymon for a few weeks. I had to get my car title cleaned, since I had paid off the Subbie, I never actually got the title from Chase. Once, that was in hand, I was able to go pick up the new car. From Denver, I shot down to NM. Since it was my first ride in a Tesla, I thought it would be cool to “take my own path”. However I didn’t realize how you are supposed to drive a Tesla, so I didn’t lean on the car’s navigation to help plan charging routes, and I just went a direction. At 2% I was able to charge at a real Bed and Breakfast in Taos. The owners were amazing, they just bought the Bnb and they made me some lunch, and we talked about all kinds of stuff. It was a really great experience. After that, I finished the drive to Black Mesa Golf Course.
The golf course was pretty much empty, and it was beautiful. It felt like every hole was another “picture” hole, and on the very last hole, I took one of the best pictures I’ve got through out the entire trip. I still can’t believe how insane that picture is.
